🎓 Perth, Western Australia:
Perth is the capital and largest city in the state of Western Australia (WA). This state covers the entire west coast and a large area of land in the western part of Australia. There is a lot of mining in this area, as well as many environmental programs. The wine region of Margaret River is situated just south of Perth. Off the coast is Rottnest Island, one of the few places in the world to see the rare quokkas in their native habitat. There is also a whale migration area along the southwestern coast, giving people the opportunity to see and study whales as they migrate to and from Antarctica.Â
Western Australia is home to five universities:
UWA – University of Western Australia
University of Notre Dame: a private, faith-based institution
Do you know… Perth is a city with just under 2.5 million, and growing fast. It has many international connections, such as Southeast Asia with direct (4-5 hour) flights to Jakarta and Singapore, or the famous 17-hour flights to Paris and London. Domestic flights include a few hours to all the rest of the Australian capital cities, and easy connections to many smaller destinations. Perth is known for being one of the sunniest and also one of the windiest cities in the world!Â
